About the Temperaments
There is nothing more fascinating about people than their inherited temperment! It is temperament that provides each human being with the distinguishing qualities that make each as individually unique as the different disigns of the snow-flakes.The theory of the temperment is not perfect; no theory of human behaviour is. However, it is the oldest on record, going back more than three thousand years. About 400 BC, Hipocrates, the brilliant Greek physician and philosopher, made the theory that there are four temperments. He ERRONEOUSLY thought that these four types were the result of four liquids that predominated in the human body; blood; "choler" or "yellow bile"; "melancholy" or "black bile"; and phlegm. He thought that the behaviour is based on these four liquids. Later, Galen, a greek doctor came up with detailed lists of the strength and weakness of the four around 2000 AD.
The four temperments are Sanguine, Choleric, Melancholic and the Phlegmatic. These four will determine the way people behave. It is a study of human behaviour in psychology. This engine will help you to find your temperment.
